Headband Holder Final Project
Lately, I’ve been getting into crafting and generally making cute things, as much as I can within in the confines of a dorm room. I recently made a hair bow inspired by Decor Roomies, and two headbands inspired by Mrs. Priss.
Well, I was cleaning my room and realized that I had no way of displaying my creations, or for that matter, putting them away at all. So I went blog hunting, but I couldn’t find anything that I really liked or had the means to do, when I realized that I still had a ton of ribbon left over from my projects. So, I got out the hot glue gun and scissors and started experimenting.
What I ended up with was an adorable headband holder!
Supplies Needed:
Glue gun
Scissors
Ribbon of two different widths
Step 1:
Cut your ribbon. I didn’t get pictures of this part, but I cut three sets of ribbon (because I just have three headbands) to make the hangers, 3 inches long for both widths. I also cut the long piece, but I didn’t measure it. Just go with what will fit your space.
Step 2:
Time to bring out the glue gun. I glued the wide ribbon in a circle and then glued the skinny ribbon around it, just for a little bit of decoration. Repeat for however many headband hangers you need.
Step 3:
Now just glue your hangers onto the long ribbon. Before I did this, I glued the very tips of the long ribbon back so you can’t see those unsightly frays that always happen. I just eyeballed the distance between the hangers, and it seemed to work pretty well.
This project has a lot of room for tweaking, so just do what works for you. I left the top section open for various hair bows or clips you might have, and then I attached it to the wall. I used tape because I honestly just didn’t have anything else on hand, and it looks like it’s going to work pretty well. I don’t know if you can tell from the picture, but right above the middle headband there is another piece of tape. That’s because this headband is pretty heavy, so the long ribbon was coming off the wall. One little piece of tape later, problem solved.
I wish I had more pictures of the steps, but it was a really quick craft and taking lots of pictures just slipped my mind.
Happy crafting!!
